Mossburn Distillers & Blenders

Mossburn Distillers & Blenders, a relatively young company, made its debut in 2017 with a range of classic Independent Bottler Malts. However, its roots delve deep into the Scotch Whisky industry, with the team amassing decades of experience in blending and bottling spirits. Their collective expertise spans generations, with over a century of continuous family history in the Scotch Whisky trade.

Leading the charge is Neil Macleod Mathieson, a highly respected figure with nearly four decades of experience in the spirits industry. Neil founded Eaux De Vie Ltd in his twenties, focusing on importing distinctive spirits for discerning customers. He was a trailblazer in predicting and fostering the global 'craft' trend and was the first in the UK to import a portfolio of US craft whiskies. Under Neil's guidance, the company evolved into an independent bottler, releasing its initial Scotch Whiskies in 1992. As a vital member of the Mossburn team, Neil played a pivotal role in realizing the company's vision of establishing an authentic Single Malt Scotch Whisky distillery in one of Scotland's most breathtaking locations.

One of their notable ventures is the Torabhaig Distillery, situated on the Isle of Skye and operational since January 2017. This distillery is not only the company's first fully functional producer of Single Malt Scotch Whisky but also just the second legal distillery on the island. Torabhaig specializes in creating a distinctive, peated new-make spirit that is currently maturing in various types of casks.
