Meadowside Blending, founded in 2011 by whisky veteran Donald Hart and his son Andrew, is a distinguished whisky company based in Glasgow, Scotland. Donald's illustrious career in the whisky industry began in 1964, and at the age of 18, he co-founded Hart Brothers, initially working as whisky brokers. They purchased and traded casks while establishing connections with various distilleries. In the 1970s, the business expanded to include a bottling plant, a warehouse, and a transition into independent bottling, leading to the creation of Hart Brothers as an independent bottler. In 2007, the company was sold, and the Meadowside Blending Company was subsequently founded.
Andrew Hart, following in his father's footsteps, became involved in the family business early on and gained extensive experience in the whisky industry. He lived in Sweden for five years, expanding his knowledge and understanding of whisky markets. Andrew is engaged in all aspects of "The Maltman" and serves as a brand ambassador for the bottling company. He, like his father, holds the prestigious title of a "Keeper of the Quaich."
Meadowside Blending's "The Maltman" series is renowned for its exceptional quality and unique characteristics. Each edition is a single cask bottling, predominantly featuring rare and aged malts. All whiskies in "The Maltman" series are unchillfiltered and naturally colored, adhering to the company's commitment to purity.
