GlenWyvis Distillery, nestled in the scenic Scottish Highlands beneath Ben Wyvis mountain, was founded in 2015 with a unique mission to bring the Dingwall community together by establishing a distillery owned entirely by local residents. Dingwall had been without a whisky distillery since 1926, but GlenWyvis aimed to revive this lost tradition and embarked on an extraordinary journey.

In 2016, GlenWyvis made history by running a record-breaking open share offer, attracting more than 3,000 like-minded investors. This groundbreaking approach resulted in the first-ever 100% community-owned distillery, reflecting an incredible response to their exceptional idea. GlenWyvis is not just innovative in ownership but also in sustainability. The distillery is a pioneer in sustainable distilling, harnessing wind, hydro, solar, and biomass energy to power its operations, inspired by the breathtaking Highland landscape it calls home.

Founded by John McKenzie, a farmer, green energy advocate, and former army officer, GlenWyvis began its distillation journey in 2017, marking the return of distilling to Dingwall, Scotland. The distillery officially opened its doors on St. Andrew's Day in November 2017. Under the guidance of master distiller Duncan Tait, GlenWyvis commenced whisky and gin production in 2018, with more than five hundred casks resting on-site after just one year. By 2023, GlenWyvis offered a diverse range of four gin types, one spirit, and two 4-year-old single malt whiskies.
